Pinot Range:

Unconventional winemaking unconventional pinot blends - minimal handling, no fining, low sulphur.

Pinot3 - The Pink Edition (L200303P)

Inspired after reading the book Wine Grapes, by Jancis Robinson et al., which indicates Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc are just mutants of the same grape variety Pinot. No other producer seemed to be making a blend of these three so we thought we'd give it a shot.

Unfortunately, however, there is no Pinot Blanc in the 2020 blend. The Covid lock down hit right at the start of harvest. No transport agency was able to get the Pinot Blanc grapes from Central Otago to Auckland in a timely fashion. Alas, the 2020 edition of Pinot cubed only has two of the Pinot mutants in it! Pinot squared would have been a more apt name but the labels were already printed!

Vintage: 100% 2020.

Varieties: 86% Pinot Noir and 14% Pinot Gris.

Regions: 72% Marlborough and 28% Auckland.

Pinot Petit

Making this wine was a bit of an impromptu decision. A very small amount of top quality Petit Verdot from an organic West Auckland vineyard was unexpectedly offered to Untitled in exchange for some wine. Too good an opportunity to miss, hands shook and the deal was done.

Vintage: 100% 2019

Variety: 92% Pinot Noir and 8% Petit Verdot

Region: 92% Marlborough and 8% Auckland
